With so many chicken, ribs, and meat sauces out there, none can compare to my “worst enemy”…TGI Friday’s Jack Daniels Sauce. It’s my biggest enemy because it’s a temptation that I have fallen prey to time and time again.
Now take a look at the following picture of the “Artery-clogging” dinner that I had yesterday. Doesn’t it make you hungry just looking at it? I hope it’s making you drool. Ha ha.
It was my birthday yesterday. So for my birthday, my hubby and kids asked me where would I like to go for dinner.
I chose TGI Friday’s restaurant. For some reason I just can’t get enough of TGI Friday’s Jack Daniels Sauce poured all over their Baby-Back Ribs.
No matter how many restaurants that are more classy, expensive than TGI Fridays restaurants…that we’ve frequented in the past, none can compare to TGI Friday’s. Well that is due to its tasty menu. It’s all about the taste of the food, not how classy, “Name brand,” or expensive a restaurant is. Well, that’s my opinion anyway.
I love the TGI Fridays Jack Daniel’s Hickory Brown Sugar Barbecue Sauce poured all over those tender Baby Back Ribs. Oh Gawd…they are sooo damn good. Okay…okay…I need to stop.
I don’t cook any type of recipes that contain pork at home. So if I were to prepare these ribs for my hubby, it would have to be beef ribs from the farm. My husband can’t stand the taste and smell of pork. However, once in a while, a girl’s gotta do what a girl wants to do. And you better believe I did!
So I’ve been really, really naughty. There you go…I admitted it. Please don’t hold it against me. You know what…to top it all off, I had desert. TGI Fridays has the best cheesecake I’ve ever had…the vanilla bean cheese cake. Let me say it again, “Oh Gawd that is sooo damn good.
At the end of the dinner, with my “Doggie bag,” in hand, I looked forward to finishing up the dinner as leftovers for lunch the next day. You know what, for some reason, food seems to taste even better the next day.
Although my family and I eat organic, healthy meals 95% of the times, we splurge occasionally. Being the human that I am, if I don’t splurge sometimes, I will falter. Anyway, to make up for that “Sinful,” meal above, today for dinner , I baked my special Flaxseed rolls, fried some fish and green plantains.
For the veggie side dish, I prepared a cabbage and lettuce salad. My children enjoyed this dinner. I promise I will have my son videotape while I prepare this dinner again. I will post the video just for you.
By the way, I just want to let you know that there is a recipe book that pretty much mimics some of America’s Most Wanted Recipes…Delicious Recipes from Your Family’s Favorite Restaurants.
Ron Douglas shares his versions of some of the best restaurant recipes so that you can prepare them at home and save a few bucks while you’re at it. Sounds like a great plan to me.
As most of you already know, I LOVE to cook and bake. I find great pleasure in creating meals from scratch based on my wild imagination. I love to see my hubby lick his fingers when enjoying a great meal.
I hope you find great pleasure in preparing your own meals too. You will be surprised how much money you save when you prepare your own meals. Besides being beneficial to your pockets, you know exactly what the ingredients are in each meal. You just can’t beat that.
