My BIG FAT Chinese Weight Loss Secret

chinese weight loss secretThis picture of my super delicious Coconut Flaxseed Barley cake (scroll down to see recipe below) and hot cup of sorrel can change your life forever! I’ll explain, but first let me ask you… Have you ever noticed that there are very few fat Chinese and Japanese people?

Well, last week a friend and I were sitting on the porch talking about Chinese people and their secret to being skinny. You see, he had just returned from spending an entire month in China. He told me that the Chinese eat a lot of greasy foods, but here’s their BIG SECRET…they ALWAYS drink HOT UNSWEETENED tea with their meals. Well most of them do. They NEVER drink cold drinks, not even water, with their meals or even after their meals. This not only helps with weight loss, but keeps the weight off too!

So guess what I did last night after having my “naughty” semi-healthy coconut flaxseed cake…I washed it down with HOT sorrel. I usually drink cold tea or water 30 minutes after my meals, but not going to do that anymore.

For those who like to drink cold water, cold juice, sodas, etc., this is applicable to you. I know you might be thinking, but I’ve been doing this all my life…drinking a nice glass of cold drink with or after every meal. Well, I’m begging you to stop…especially if you drink it during the meal.

Here’s why even drinking cold water is bad. My friend told me that what he learned was that the cold water solidifies the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It slows down the digestion. Once this “Muck” reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line your intestine. And guess what? Sooner than later, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer.

Change your habit and change your life…drink hot tea, warm water or hot soup after meals

Just letting you know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be your left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.

Some people never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Did you know that nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms? The fact is, 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are sleeping do not wake up.

Remember, knowledge is POWER! Let’s be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance of survival.

Did you know that the correct timing to drink water, will maximize its effectiveness on your body? Yes, TIMING is EVERYTHING…

1. Drink two glasses of water – After waking up – Helps activate internal organs

2. Drink one glass of water – 30 minutes before meal – Help digestion

3. Drink one glass of water – Before taking a bath – Helps lower blood pressure

4. Drink one glass of water – Before sleep – To avoid stroke or heart attack

Please pass this to the people you know…….

If everyone who reads this message sends it to 10 people, it can certainly save at least one life. You can save a friend or family member’s life. So, please be a true friend and send this to all your friends and relatives you care about.

Semi-Healthy Coconut Flaxseed Barley Cake Recipe

2 cups brown sugar or (Agave, coconut sugar, or organic maple syrup)
2 cups of butter at room temperature or (Artisana Organic Raw Butter, Coconut)
3 eggs or (egg substitutes like Certified Organic Golden Flax Seed gel) (See video… how to make flaxseed gel egg replacer at the bottom of this post)
2 tablespoon vanilla essence
2 tablespoon almond essence
2 tablespoon fresh squeezed lime
2 tablespoon fresh grated ginger
5 tablespoon ground flaxseed
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 cup fresh grated coconut
3/4 cup barley flour
1 cup unbleached flour or Pamela’s Gluten Free Baking and Pancake Mix
1/4 cup grated coconut to top the cake (optional)

Cake Topping: Vanilla icing (made from coconut cream) or Coconut & Lime Natural Flavoured Icing Sugar for Cakes and Bakes , shredded coconut and sprinkles (optional)

Preheat oven to 350°F. Position a rack on the second lowest shelf of the oven. Brush around the base of the cake pan with butter to lightly grease and also sprinkle some flour in the pan (over the butter) to keep cake from sticking

Beat the butter and brown sugar/substitute in a bowl until nice and creamy. Beat eggs/substitute separately in another bowl. Add beaten eggs/substitute to the butter and brown sugar/substitute mixture and blend some more with the hand mixer on high or until nice and smooth. Add all the other ingredients one by one in the order posted above… as you continue to beat with the electric hand mixer on high speed. Continue to beat on high speed for about 3 minutes or until mixture is creamy…nice and smooth.

Spoon the mixture into the prepared pan. Bake in preheated oven for 40 minutes or until a knife or fork inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Remove from oven and set aside for 10 minutes. Turn onto a wire rack for 2 hours or until completely cool and add icing (optional).
