No Shampoo…Going No Poo Can Work Wonders…

no shampooNo shampoo for 3 months? Yes, it is true. I have not shampooed my hair in close to four months.

Actually what I do is I use a product…well actually two products that you could find in your kitchen. If you don’t have them in your kitchen, you can find them at your local grocery store. They have actually made a great difference in the look and feel of my hair. It might be uncomfortable at first, but give it some time and you would never want to go back to shampoo. Some people actually claim that it is great for getting rid of dandruff.

I don’t have dandruff, so I can’t say that it does. Going without shampoo has done wonders for my hair. I will always wash my hair with baking soda and condition with vinegar unless I’m in a situation where I have no choice but to use shampoo. Going No Poo…no shampoo works really well for me. Would it work for you? Give it a try.

My sister just can’t get used to pouring vinegar in her hair. So she is using Wen Hair Care System It smells really great and she swears by it.

After I rinse my hair thoroughly with the apple cider vinegar, the smell is very faint and it goes away. However, I use Carol’s Daughter, Tui Leave-in Conditioner after towel drying my hair. It’s smells soooo good. Many people smell my hair from a mile away (smile). I used to use two of the Kinky-Curly products after I finished washing and conditioning my hair with Apple Cider Vinegar, however I don’t use them anymore…the Curling Custardand the Knot Today. The Knot Today is great for anyone with extremely tangled hair. It is a great detangler. As for the Curling Custard, it’s great for making your hair either silky or very curly depending on how much you use. However, I stopped using it because it leaves a white residue in your hair after a few days, if you use it with any other product.

My website goes over a lot of the same subjects as yours and I feel we could greatly benefit from each other. If you’re interested feel free to shoot me an email. I look forward to hearing from you! 7. Wow. Never thought of not using shampoo in my hair. Baking soda and vinegar sounds interesting. I should try it. Doesn’t the vinegar smell though?

  9. Hey I was just wondering after you use the baking soda and rinse out the apple cider vinegar, do you straighten your hair at all with a flat iron? Because after I wash my hair its usually poofy and kind of wild so do you think your method will still have the same effect if I do flat iron it? And also to keep my hair moisturized I use Olive oil. Do you have anything you recommend to keep hair moisturized or is using olive oil okay? Thanks alot!

    • Sorry i meant to say i use Tea tree oil to moisturize my hair.

    • Tyra, thanks for your inquiry. After I use the rinse, I towel blot my hair, moisturize it and then I plait in (5-7 large plaits). The next day it’s fully dried and I lose it out and either leave it wavy or comb it out. If you flat iron your hair, just make sure you use a good product for heat protection and it should be no problem. Just don’t do too much flat ironing. Olive Oil, Tea Tree Oil, Argan Oil (my favorite), Rosemary Oil, etc are all good. I use good old Vaseline, and light pomades in my hair and scalp too sometimes. My mom used Vaseline on my hair growing up. It was good back then, and still works fine now.

  10. Oh God, why would you stop using shampoo? Is the substance that cleans the hair! It is like using the bathroom for number 2 for ages and never wipe!
Using that mixture you only avoid getting it oily.

    • Felipe, my guess is that you didn’t view the video to find out why I prefer not to use shampoo. Most hampoos leaves residue in the hair, strips the hair, and does not clean the hair as it should. Only few shampoos do what they are supposed to do…clean thoroughly without leaving residue and “Killing the hair,” in the process. BTW Felipe, thanks for visiting and for your input.

  13. Today, I went to the beach with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to tell someone!

  19. I heard a lot of good about soda over the years but I haven’t tried it myself yet. When I had problems with my hair in the past I used chicken eggs with a good result, as I was fighting my dandruff. Will try your method for sure.
