With over over 5 million people per month searching for homebased work you better believe that there is more job seekers than homebased work available. So what does that mean? It means that you would most likely not land a work at home job. I don’t mean to be so blunt, but this is reality. It takes the average work at home jobseeker anywhere from 12-18 months or more to land legitimate homebased work. With the economy being the way it is today, it makes it even worse. The odds are certainly not in your favor.

So how can you change this scenario? Well, first of all, you must be able to beat out your competition. You need to stand out above the crowd with a specialized skill, career, etc.

What I’m really saying is, you need to be a step ahead of the rest, stand out in the crowd. For instance, becoming a graphic arts designer, Desktop Publisher, Accountant, AutoCAD Drafter, court reporter, transcriptionist, etc., can set you on a path to being employed from home forever. Those are specialized skills. If you lose your job or contract today, you can apply for another one tomorrow, and actually start working again within a week or two like I’ve done many times in the past.

The good thing about these types of jobs is that they are also recession proof. No matter what’s going on with the economy, you will always have a job. See for yourself. For instance, go to your search engine and type in, “medical transcription jobs,” Medical transcription employment,” “medical transcription companies,” and see how many jobs you find.

Again, if you truly want to stand out above the crowd and land legitimate homebased work, it is highly recommended that you acquire a specialized skill, or several skills.

With the economy the way it is today, many work from home job seekers are desperate to quickly find home based work. 3) AllFreelance (dot com) – AllFreelance website is a directory and articles blog specifically aimed at consultants, entrepreneurs, and freelancers. All freelancers offers lots of helpful advice, resources, and tips for home business owners.

While seeking a home based job, you can actually get started earning some money quickly just like many freelancers are doing today.

My webmaster is always busy with work that he receives daily via email from several freelance websites. You have the option of signing up to receive email notifications of new projects. By doing this, you will find yourself with more work than you could handle on a daily basis. Although you might not have considered joining the millions of freelancers working from home, maybe you should reconsider, especially if you can register to bid on jobs without paying a fee to do so.

You can take on a several small projects, and do this while keeping your day job. This way you can still have the security of a job while building your client base, adding to your portfolio, and resume. This will give you the experience you need to demand more money for your work and make the transition to working from home a smoother one.
