Many blogs like this blog offer “DoFollow” on comments. What this means is that you receive benefit from leaving a comment with a link back to your site in your name.

What really makes this special is that it will benefit your Search Engine Ranking Position (SERP). I don’t have a problem with this as long as the comments are genuine and it’s pretty much a way for me to say, “Thank you,” for visiting my blog.

On the other hand, when you place a sufficient number of comments on “NoFollow,” blogs in order to gain back links to your website or blog, you are pretty much wasting your time.

These links are ignored by the search engines. So make sure you post on “DoFollow,” blogs. However, don’t spam any blog whatsoever. Read the posts and be genuine in whatever you say in the comment box.

Now, posting comments on blogs just for gaining back links to your blog or website is so damn time-consuming that blog owners don’t want to do it. Some people actually or use software… what I consider, spam bots. Please don’t do this.

Now that’s not all. Here’s the ugly secret. To save the trouble of making hundreds of comments on various “DoFollow” blogs, and avoid getting caught in spam filters, there are companies that will make relevant comments on blog posts using your chosen anchor text.

They charge anywhere from $19 for 100 comments and even up to $199 for 1000 comments left on your behalf. Would I consider this BS? Maybe, maybe not. However, it’s not something I would do.

You know what, this can really become a problem for blog owners like me, because it makes the job of spotting spammy comments almost impossible. I do have the awful task of weeding through comments trying to decide whose comments are spam or not.

So let’s take this into consideration, would you consider this spam… comments that were not actually written by the stated author, but was paid for? Does the fact that the comments were paid for make it legitimate? What do you think?

Have you ever stepped in dog poop? Well I have…many years ago. It is something I would never, ever forget. From that day on, I have made it my business to never, ever step in poop again. Well to my dismay I ended up stepping in poop again, but not dog poop this time. It was the worst kind of poop ever. And you know what, this is poop that is very difficult to clean off.

Guess what, you might be stepping in the same poop too…the dreaded “Work At Home POOP.” Thank God that I was able to clean my POOP off and make a living online. However it took me a few years to do so. Work at home opportunity seekers, beware of stepping in POOP. It could destroy you.

What is work at home POOP? Well let me sum it up for you:

1. P – People who claim to be Internet marketing gurus when they are not.

Now there is nothing worst than falling into the trap of so-called gurus who claim that they are earning anywhere from $10,000 or more monthly and are not making a dime. The worst part is, they sell you their program trying to teach you how to make money that they themselves do not even know how to make.

2. O – Overwhelmed and Overloaded with too much work at home opportunity info.

Now this one could actually destroy you. This one hit me like a ton of bricks and almost “Popped my head open.” I thought I was going crazy… literally. Maybe you are going through the same thing too. Each day my email box was filled with so much information that I just did not know which way to turn. I did searches on the search engines, visited forums, visited work at home websites, purchased over 100 e-books and programs and did everything possible to find the truth about how to earn a living online.

I was actually searching in vain because I ended up at a dead end, actually right where I first started… nowhere. There is nothing worst than working extremely hard day in and day out seeking information, purchasing e-books, reading those e-books, applying the instructions, etc and never earn a dime. The more money you spend, the more money you lose. You end up day after day pulling out your credit card in hopes of making the next online opportunity, only to be disappointed again, and again.

3. O – Opt-In lists from hell

Have you ever placed your name and email address in an opt-in box in order to receive more info and was spammed left and right? This is against the law, but many marketers do it anyway. To make matters worse, your email is shared and sold to other marketers who then do the same damn thing… spam your email box. Now this kind of thing is quite frustrating because you can end up spending most of your day cleaning out your email box.

To make matters worse, when you try to unsubscribe from some of these lists, your request goes unheard and you still continue to receive junk. I hate spam and I cannot imagine spamming anyone’s email box. I am sure these so called gurus would not like anyone spamming their email boxes. So why they do it to others puzzles me.

4. P – Passive Income Propaganda…

Gurus have a tendency to spread their misinformation like wild fire all over the Internet. This is after all the digital age, and information spreads instantaneously with just a click of the mouse. The most popular way of perpetuating this misinformation is to send e-mail messages with headlines such as:

• “Make $2,500 per month filling out surveys” • “10k in 30 Days…” • “Read our step-by-step blueprint to wealth and earn $659,560 in 6 months.” • “Make thousands of dollars with this amazing method.” • “Google is hiring at-home workers”

Most of these programs are set up to make you fail. I have never found a work at home program that could make you five, six-figures or an internet millionaire overnight unless you piggyback on someone else’s success by buying your income. Buying your income is the only way that I know of that can make almost anyone an “overnight sensation.” And even with this method, you have to know exactly what you are doing, have some money to invest or you could get burned.

With the economy the way it is and more and more people losing their jobs, many people are jumping online and have become business, home job opportunity seekers with big dreams of making quick money. More and More people are lured into many opportunities and are left “Hanging on shoe strings.” And you might be one of them… one of those poor, unlucky souls who are constantly stepping in POOP.

Fortunately, you can avoid all the sharks and earn a decent living online. For instance, selling products for large companies like Amazon, working from home as an independent contractor for major corporations, buying your income, and working as a freelancer are some of the most effective means of generating a full-time income via the Internet.

If you are a newbie trying to “Cast your net,” on the Internet, hoping to catch some big fish, please be careful not step in POOP. You might never be able to clean that damn POOP off.

I received a question from one of my blog readers and that question is:

What is affiliate marketing and how can I get started as an affiliate marketer?

So what is affiliate marketing? Affiliate marketing is basically selling other people’s stuff. Merchants like Gap, Walmart, Amazon, Home Depot , etc pay you a commission when you sell their stuff. My favorite stuff to sell are digital products, ebooks, etc.

One of the best and largest affiliate network is Clickbank.

Clickbank only offers digital products for affiliates to promote. For instance if you have an ebook that you created, you can put your ebook in Clickbank’s marketplace and affiliate marketers sell your ebook for you and you would pay them a commission. So this is what authors of ebooks and other digital products do.

You can see an example of how an author of an ebook, software, directory, etc would go about advertising their product. Here’s and example of my digital product.

If you were to promote the HOB directory you would receive a 75% commission. You can promote this product on a website, blog, via articles, on forums, on google, etc. You would create an affiliate ID on Clickbank for this product and you would direct potential customers to the sales letter via your affiliate link. Once customers purchase, Clickbank would send you a commission. And commissions are paid bi-weekly.

Check out Clickbank to see products offered in the marketplace. Clickbank takes care of the entire process from processing customer payments, paying affiliates, and even issuing refunds to customers who make such requests. There are thousands of ebooks and digital products offered for affiliates to promote on Clickbank.

Your job as an affiliate marketer is to find buyers who are desperate need for some product, service, information, etc, that would make their life much better. Think about it, at some point or time in your life, you were in need of a solution to a problem that affected your appearance, health, love life, etc.

You see, millions of people are searching on the internet every single day for information that can make their lives better. For instance, one of the main reason why my directory was created is to help people find work at home contracts, which are quite difficult to find because 98% of work at home job offers are scams.

My directory gives info on how to avoid scams and weed through the garbage to find a real job. There are lots of info and videos showing where the real jobs are. This would help many people, especially moms to stay at home and work around their family’s schedule.

These people are desperate and they want solutions that will make all their problems go away. Most are willing to pay a price for it. You, as an affiliate marketer would then find a niche, a group of people desperate for a solution to their problem and then you would give them what they want (an ebook with a solution to their problem, a product, etc).

Here are some niches that you can start with:

People who want to improve their sex life (adult products). For example, men looking for products to increase their ejaculation volume, enlarge their penis, etc.

People who have dogs that are not obedient and they are looking for dog training advice.
