You will need to research other pet supply online businesses to determine which products sell best online. Take notes on how competitors arrange their websites and feature products.


Notice the prices of various products for which online pet supply stores sell their merchandise. Make a list of products that you want to sell, including items, such as dry and canned foods, collars, leashes, bowls and toys.



Step 1
Create a catchy name for your online pet supply business. Register your business name as your doing business as through your county, state or city, according to Business.gov. Apply for a vendor’s license simultaneously as you will need to pay sales taxes on in-state online customers.






Step 2
Finance your online pet supply business with your savings or part of a retirement fund. Apply for a loan at your bank, if necessary. Contact the Small Business Administration for a loan at SBA.gov. Create a three-year sales forecast for your business because you will need it for an SBA loan.
