How To Make Bread At Home And Make Some Dough While You’re At It!
How To Make Bread At Home…
The more I find out what’s really going on with our food industry, the more I am leary to eat 95% of the things I used to eat. There is just too much garbage in our foods and too many people around me dying from cancer and other diseases due to the foods we eat. Beware of any bleached foods…white bread, white sugar, etc.
So before we start on the topic of how to make bread at home, we are going to take a closer look at what is going on with the flour, etc that we use to bake our breads. Maybe after viewing the following video you might change your mind about how you eat bread.
As I type right now, I have a friend dying from stomach cancer and the doctors already gave up on her. What does this have to do with the title of this post, “How to make bread at home?” Well, bread is one of the things that I’ve decided to make from home among a multitude of other foods that are making us fat and sick with disease. By making it myself, I can ensure that the ingredients are beneficial to my health and not detrimental.
No more store-bought bread for my family and I. Most of the so-called whole wheat, whole grain breads in the local grocery stores are no good due to the ingredients. Most of it is not even whole wheat or whole grain. Some of the breads that are supposed to be whole wheat are dyed brown, the flour used is bleached enriched wheat flour, etc. Now that’s disturbing. Following is a great informative video on the subject:
I can actually buy organic whole grain, whole wheat bread at the health food store, but I’ve just decided that I want to start baking all of our breads. So instead of kneading dough on my hand which I do all the time when baking bread, I’ll purchase a bread maker. I know what you’re probably thinking…why did you knead bread by hand when you could have used a bread maker, Vernette? Good question.
In the Caribbean we made bread by hand…no bread maker. So I’m used to the hand-kneaded bread fresh from the oven that my mom used to bake. Last year, I started baking bread once per month, and did it without a bread maker. Now, I’m making it my business to ramp it up…stop purchasing bread at the grocery store, and make my own every week.
So in this case, I would need a bread maker and a bread slicer . There is no way in the world I can keep up with baking bread every week without a bread maker. I am going back to basics with my life, but that would be way too basic for me right now. LOL! Click here for some detailed instructions on how to make bread at home.
How To Make Bread At Home And Make Money too!
So you want to find out how to make bread at home and make while you’re at it?
Good for you!
You can start a home based baking business. You can not only bake breads, but cakes, cookies, etc. There are two articles that I found on the subject and I’ve included them below.
Now before we get to the two articles, I want to let you know that the food industry is one of the highest regulated industries. This is one of the most regulated industries due to allergies, communicable diseases, etc. If you would really like to make your passion for baking goods at home turn into a lucrative money-maker do your homework before setting up shop. Start out by visiting the Home Based Baking website. This way you would know what licenses you need in your state and how to get started.
Some states do not allow home based baking at all. In Oregon most people cannot even dream of doing any type of food business from home without a sperarate building with a commercial kitchen set up. Also, if you have any pets whatsoever, you cannot have a home baking business. So make sure you check out home based baking before getting started. This could help you avoid making big mistakes that can cost you in the long run. Below is an article by Fionajean on how to make money in your home-based baking business.

Making Money from your Home-Based Baking Business
Many people look on a home industry business as a way to make a little extra money. There is a general perception that it is not a “real” business because you’re working from home. This is utter nonsense. The fact is, a lot of home industry businesses are started to supplement income and those that are managed properly become full-time businesses in their own right.
Before you start Baking
If you want to be successful, you need to approach this as a “proper” business from the start. Take some time to think about exactly who is going to buy your goods, how they are going to be sold and the logistics involved in getting them to the end consumer. Also consider what exactly you will make. Baked goods especially have to be fresh to be enjoyed and some have very limited shelf-lives.
What is your competition? Here I am not only referring to direct competition but also to any similar product that may be competing for your consumer’s money. If you bake apple pies, for example, your pies are not only competing against other apple pies but also against lemon merinques, biscuits, etc.

1Hey that´s a really good post. But it´s not only bread you can make in a bread maker – you can make cakes too.
What´s more they taste delicious. Even more reason to go buy yourself a bread maker.
2Breadmaker @ Panasonic SD-2501wxc´s last [type] ..Kenwood BM250 Bread Maker Review
I love making my own bread! Its so theraputic and costs much less as well than buying it from the shops. Well at least buying the good stuff anyway! Its probably cheaper to buy the really cheap stuff but it tastes horrible!

Harriet the cheap, unhealthy stuff usually taste better. I do find however that once my family and I start eating a healthy alternative to bread, rice, etc, we get used to it and the old unhealthy foods do not taste as good anymore. We used to hate brown rice when I first started cooking it, but now, my kids love it more than white rice…me too. It’s really good with lentils.
4I tend to eat too much bread when it’s fresh from the oven. Too good!
5I wouldn’t mind having fresh bread only. Great post thanks.
6It’s a good thing, but having fresh bread every single day is a dream. I used to get fresh bread everyday growing up in the Caribbean because the bread van would come around with fresh bread and we would only buy enough for the day…never extra.
7I need to give up white bread. It’s not that easy at all. It taste better than the healthier versions.
